Guaranteed less waste: The Packaging Act

The purpose of the Packaging Act (VerpackG) is to avoid or reduce the impact of packaging waste on the environment. Packaging waste is to be avoided as a matter of priority and, in addition, recycled. In addition, the Packaging Act regulates the obligations that must be observed when placing packaging on the market.

ProLux will fulfil or comply with the obligations arising from the Packaging Act and has registered with the central body (LUCID) in the course of this legislation.

ProLux has regulated the legal requirement "participation in a dual system" with the company BellandVision.

Information for the customer

Sales packaging must not be disposed of in the residual waste (waste bin), but must be collected and disposed of via the existing collection systems (e.g. paper bins). This also includes ProLux shipping cardboard boxes. Packaging may of course be handed in at our location in Blaustein during normal business hours.

The Battery Act (BattG) regulates the placing on the market, the return and the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and accumulators.

Information for the customer

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with the residual waste. Therefore, consumers are legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or health if not disposed of properly. However, batteries and accumulators also contain important raw materials (e.g. iron, zinc, manganese, cobalt, nickel, graphite, copper, aluminium, lithium) and they are reused.

Used batteries and rechargeable batteries can be returned to municipal collection points or recycling centres or to any retailer where batteries are sold. Of course, the return is also possible at our location in Blaustein during the usual business hours.

Regardless of shape, size, mass, material composition or use, all types of batteries are affected. The law therefore also applies to batteries that are built into or attached to products..

The correct disposal of electrical waste is an important issue, as it contains valuable raw materials that can be sustainably recycled and thus preserved.

How can you tell that a device falls under the Electrical and electronic waste recycling act (ElektroG)?

All electrical and electronic equipment placed on the European market must be marked with this symbol. This symbol indicates that the respective device should not be disposed of in the household waste at the end of its service life, but separately. Defective appliances can be disposed of at the collection points of the public waste disposal authorities (collection points of the cities/municipalities - recyclable material level). Of course, you can hand in electrical appliances purchased from us at our location during normal business hours.

You are responsible for ensuring that no personal data is stored on the old equipment you return. Therefore, please ensure that you have deleted your personal data from your old device before returning it.

ProLux is registered with the "Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register" (EAR) with the registration number DE56189565.

The EAR is the joint body of the manufacturers in the sense of the ElektroG and has been entrusted by the Federal Environment Agency with the performance of sovereign tasks. Within this framework, the foundation registers the producers of electrical and electronic equipment and coordinates the provision of collection containers and the collection of WEEE from the public waste management authorities.
