Insulation monitoring Plug and Play

To protect persons against electric shock, Insulation monitoring must be provided in any 230 V/AC networks that are not earthed (grounded). Networks are not earthed if, for example, a power inverter is operated in a vehicle and there is no earth spike or direct contact with the ground. The insulation monitor checks the insulation resistances between the outer conductors and the protective conductor, triggers in the event of a fault and switches off the AC voltage.
