Insulation monitoring with combination device

Every unearthed 230 V/AC system must be equipped with an insulation monitoring system to ensure that people are protected against electric shock. A non-earthed system exists if, for example, an inverter is operated in a vehicle and there is no earth spike or direct contact to earth. Among other things, the insulation monitor checks the insulation resistance between the outer conductors and the protective conductor and trips in the event of a fault and switches off the AC voltage. Only in conjunction with switch box (inverter/outside feeding).
