Who needs a lifting chain?

Wherever loads have to be lifted, lifting chains of grade 8 or grade 10 are used. The variety within our range of lifting chains is as diverse as their applications. Thanks to the wide range of working load limits, even demanding lifting tasks can be carried out without any problems. In addition to their use as lifting gear, i.e. as a lifting chain, all our chains are also suitable for pulling loads.

Different types of chain slings

Our grade 8 chain slings are available as a 1-leg or 2 leg chain sling (we can also supply 3-leg or 4-leg chain slings on request). The length of the chain sling is normally fixed, but we can also supply models which can be shortened. The chain slings come in different chain diameters. The chain Ø determines the load capacity, meaning a thicker chain will have a higher working load limit. In addition to the diameter, you can also choose between the following different options:

•       1-leg or 2 leg chain slings with coupling ring and sling hook with latch

•       supplied with a fixed usable length, e.g. 2 m,

•       or with chain shorteners, so that the chain can be shortened as required by more than half the maximum usable length.

•       options for hooking the load directly or strapping around the load (chain is placed around the load and the hook is attached back onto the chain leg)

•       chain slings with a chain shortener on one or both sides (highly recommended when pulling loads, length can be adjusted as required)

•       modular system: all the components for our lifting chains are interchangeable or replaceable as required

•       special rescue chain slings (for recovering vehicles)

2 leg chain sling

Our grade 8, 2 leg chain sling is often used for lifting objects where there is a risk of tipping during lifting due to the width of the load. The distance between the lifting points distributes the weight of the load evenly over both legs of the chain sling, enabling the load to be lifted without tilting. A 2 leg chain sling is also beneficial when pulling bulky items because it allows better control over the load. All of our chain slings are also available with shorteners. These can be used to balance out uneven loads.

1-leg chain sling

Our grade 8, single-leg chain sling is commonly used in the towing and recovery sector as well as the forestry industry. In addition to lifting loads, 1-leg chain slings are often used for pulling objects such as vehicles or logs.
