When to use wheel tie-downs

Vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, vans or trucks must be properly secured during transport. Vehicles that need to be transported are hardly ever equipped  with special attachment points. As bodywork surfaces are very sensitive to pressure, using ratchet straps to secure vehicles can cause damage. Usually, the only option for transporting vehicles without damaging them and still complying with the regulations is to secure them by the wheels. Wheel sizes can vary greatly, and the type of vehicle used for transport also plays an important role. For example, you need to know whether the trailer has a closed or perforated surface and whether it has lashing points and, if yes, how far apart they are. These requirements cannot usually be met with standard tie-down straps.
