Who needs auxiliary lighting?

Auxiliary lights are for anyone who feels that standard lighting is insufficient. This includes drivers of emergency vehicles and breakdown or tow trucks, because they need light not only for driving, but also to illuminate the scene. Vehicles that are on the road in poor conditions often also need auxiliary lighting. In this case, the main beams of truck auxiliary lights provide much better illumination of the road. Powerful, rear-facing reversing lights help by lighting up the area behind the vehicle. Additional LED work lights keep work areas well illuminated, which is the only way to work safely in poor lighting conditions. Lights must always be E-approved. In terms of lighting technology, auxiliary LED lights have generally been popular, as LEDs are the technical standard on the market in terms of brightness and reliability.

Truck auxiliary lights

Truck auxiliary lights are mainly installed as spotlights on the front of vehicles, such as Mercedes, Scania, MAN TGX, etc. Auxiliary LED lights with parking lights supplement the main headlights in terms of light output, so they increase safety. Modern LEDs are now the most commonly used type of lighting. LED lights are replacing older technologies, such as xenon lamps or auxiliary halogen lights. LEDs such as CREE LED provide a very bright and high-contrast light. They also have a long service life, low power consumption and excellent vibration resistance. In the truck sector, a maximum of four (up to 12 t GVW) or six (over 12 t GVW) spotlights may be installed in addition to the existing truck headlamps. These are also available as truck auxiliary lights with parking light (position light). They are very popular as roof-mounted auxiliary lights for trucks. Other auxiliary lights are, for example, work lights or reversing lights. These are especially common on vehicles that are not involved in goods transport, i.e. tow trucks or breakdown trucks with cranes. Here, worklights are used to illuminate areas on or next to the truck. A second auxiliary light for reversing is permitted by law and improves the driver's visibility to the rear of the vehicle. The ECE-approved LED version is also the first choice for these types of auxiliary lights for trucks.
