Halogen work lamps - The classics among the work lights
The classic shapes of halogen headlamps range from square to oval and round. They can be equipped, for example, with a handle and a switch mounted on a magnetic base or a grille to protect the diffusing lenses. The most commonly used halogen bulb in the worklight area is the H3 bulb. This is offered in 12 volts with 55 watts, alternatively in 24 volts with 70 watts. Due to these different voltage versions, multi-voltage use is not possible, which makes it difficult to use in vehicles with different on-board voltages. A new version is the H9 bulb which is used at Hella. Compared to the H3 bulb, this has an approx. 45 % higher luminous flux, which ensures that the H9 bulb produces 1.5 times more light output. H9 bulbs are only available in 12 volts.
Areas of application for halogen worklights
Nevertheless, the halogen workl ight is still a good choice today because of its low cost, especially for areas where the work lamp is not in continuous use. The fields of application range from municipal vehicles, tractors, trucks, industrial trucks to towing vehicles. Work lights are used to illuminate a work surface in front of, to the side or behind the vehicle.
Guidelines for use: Use on public roads "while driving" is not permitted. As a general rule, work lamps may only be switched on if no road users can be blinded.
Halogen work lamps
(1)Although halogen headlamps are no longer among the top-sellers today, they still have a firm place in the world of work lamps. The advantages are a low purchase price coupled with a long service life. A further advantage is the homogeneous illumination, which is not always given with favourable LED headlights. A warm, for the human eye pleasant luminous colour and a working light without hard contrasts are still selling points for the halogen spotlights.
