What is the ProLux reflective marking tape used for?

There are many possible applications for our vehicle reflective tapes. In public road traffic, our tape is used as contour markings for trucks, vans and trailers. Reflective tape is also required by law for vehicles exceeding a certain size. Our reflective marking tape is also used in construction, industry and agriculture. In addition to motor vehicles, it is also used to mark machinery, equipment, barriers or obstacles. This significantly improves visibility to prevent accidents, even in poor lighting conditions. But our reflective adhesive tapes are also popular in the private sector. Reflective tapes as contour marking for HGVs, vans and cars

Part of all road traffic accidents occur in poor weather conditions such as fog, rain, twilight and darkness. Reflective tape as warning markings in road traffic

The Orafol reflective marking tape in the colours red-white or yellow-red is used to secure emergency vehicles and danger zones. The self-adhesive and reflective tape Oralite has a visually striking red-white or red-yellow hatching. It is used to mark vehicles in public traffic that are used for the construction, maintenance or cleaning of roads and facilities in the road area or similar. However, devices installed on motor vehicles that extend beyond the width of the vehicle must also be marked with the reflective, hatched red and white reflective tape. The German standard DIN 30710 regulates such vehicle warning markings. Furthermore, traffic obstructions must also be marked with the reflective adhesive tape. DIN 67520 applies here.

Who is obliged to apply our self-adhesive and reflective tape?

The mandatory use of contour markings on motor vehicles is regulated by EC Directive 2007/35/EC. Here in Germany, the regulation was implemented in Section 53 (10) of the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). Technical requirements for the tape are regulated by ECE 104. Since August 2012, HGVs with a gross vehicle weight over 7.5 t and trailers over 3.5 t and a total width over 2100 mm must be fitted with yellow or red reflective tape (contour markings) on the rear. For vehicle lengths over 6 meters, white or yellow reflective adhesive tape must be fitted to the sides. Reflective tape must be retrofitted to vehicles or trailers registered on or after July 10, 2011.
