Possible applications for a car dolly

Wheel dollies are used to move cars. They can be used in a wide range of situations. Car dealers use them to optimally position their cars in the showroom. Classic car enthusiasts use them to carefully and precisely park their valuable cars in the garage. Towing services and the fire brigade use wheel dollies to move vehicles on the road. Despite the high maximum load capacity, the wheel dolly itself is low weight. This makes it easy to transport and use.

Car dollies for showrooms

In a car showroom, vehicles need to be optimally presented – including being perfectly positioned for display. This is where our car dollies come in. By using a wheel dolly on each tyre, cars can be precisely positioned without leaving unsightly tyre marks on the mostly tiled showroom floors. In contrast, tyre marks are a common occurrence when vehicles are driven into showrooms and steered into position. We also supply a dolly for cars with low ground clearance, such as low-profile sports cars. This enables the wheel dolly to be moved into position under the vehicle body with ease. Wheel dollies are also often used in car dealership workshops when carrying out bodywork or paint work.

Dolly for cars: towing services and the fire brigade

Our car dollies are frequently used by towing services. The day-to-day tasks of towing services include removing vehicles that have been parked illegally in strict no-parking zones, such as on fire service access roads. With a car dolly on all four vehicle wheels, the car can be moved into the correct position for loading onto a tow truck. If the wheels are blocked (e.g. if the handbrake is on), the car dollies stay on the wheels of the vehicle during loading. In this instance, the castors are used to manoeuvre the car instead of the car tyres.

Fire brigades are not primarily focused on removing parked vehicles, their main concern is removing obstructive vehicles that are blocking an emergency route. In this case, the wheel dolly is used in exactly the same way just with a different aim. Illegally parked vehicles are moved with the wheel dollies to give the fire service unobstructed access to the scene of an accident or fire.
