Winch rope dampener

With the winch rope dampener by Superwinch, the whipping effect of winch ropes in the event of rope breakage or tearing at the anchorage point is largely avoided. Before use, the bag of the winch rope dampener is filled with e.g. sand or earth and placed over the rope. If the rope breaks, the ballast-filled winch rope dampener presses the rope to the ground by gravity and the energy is dissipated. Without a winch rope dampener, the rope can "whip" through the air and cause serious personal injury or damage to property. With longer ropes, it is also useful to place several winch rope dampeners over the rope to minimise the danger. The winch rope dampener is suitable for steel ropes, synthetic fibre ropes, rope extensions or sling ropes. Reflectors are attached to the outside of the winch winch rope dampener. This increases visibility for people in the work area and traffic.
