The right roller fairlead for your winch

Winch roller fairleads are used for hydraulic winches and electric winches. The fairlead roller is screwed on in front of the winch’s rope drum. The fairlead winch mount needs to have appropriately spaced drill holes. The opening of the fairlead must also match the drum dimensions of the winch. We normally have the right roller fairlead in stock for all our winches. Steel ropes put a lot of strain on roller fairleads for winches, especially when the traction force is high. For this reason, roller fairleads are normally made of steel. They are sturdy and the rollers are robust enough to cope with wire rope. If you operate your winch with high-strength synthetic rope, you should not use a normal roller fairlead. There is a risk of the roller fairlead damaging the synthetic rope. This is why we offer a selection of suitable aluminium fairleads for synthetic ropes.

Fairleads for winches with synthetic winch ropes

High-strength synthetic ropes offer many benefits for users. However, in mechanical terms, they are more delicate than winch cables. If you are using synthetic winch ropes, you cannot use roller fairleads. The opening on the ends of the rollers can damage synthetic winch ropes. Always use a special aluminium rope fairlead. The rounded, gap-free rope opening in polished aluminium prevents damage to synthetic winch ropes. When using aluminium rope fairleads, it is still important that they fit your winch.
