Fields of application for synthetic winch ropes
The use of synthetic winch cables with higher strength is diverse and different. The load capacity comparable to steel wire ropes opens up their field of application. Added to this is the low dead weight. This is particularly important in the off-road sector. The lowest possible weight of accessories is taken into account here. The rope is ideal for electric winches or hydraulic winches. Regardless of whether it is used as a forestry rope on the forestry winch or on the cable winch when recovering and towing vehicles, deflection pulleys or cable rollers are quickly hooked into the flexible winch rope. It is also used to extend winch ropes if their length is insufficient. Two integrated eyelets make it universally applicable. The eyelets can be equipped with e.g. shackles and hooks. It is also popular as a light and high-quality tow rope with maximum pulling power. Synthetic winch ropes are also increasingly used in the area of rope cranes.
Advantages of the synthetic winch line
Synthetic winch ropes are based on the synthetic material polyethylene or polyamide. In a special manufacturing process, the fibres are technically extremely modified. This results in a material with a significantly higher strength and thus a higher breaking load. The rope is then round braided to the desired rope Ø. The breaking load of a 10 mm thick synthetic winch line, for example, is on a par with winch cable (steel ropes) - with the same material thickness. Used on a cable winch, there are major advantages compared to the wire rope. The synthetic winch cable winds much better because it is flexible and soft. No more "wire rope knots" on the wire rope winch. There is no longer any risk of injury from broken, protruding wires. The time-consuming and laborious maintenance of the rope - metre by metre - with grease or oil is also no longer necessary. There is no longer any risk of damage to the roller fairlead from dragging wire ropes. A synthetic winch rope always lies straight and does not curl. Not to speak of the difference in weight - a synthetic rope for winches is five times lighter than a comparable steel rope! For comparison: a steel rope with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 30 m weighs approx. 12 kg. The corresponding synthetic winch rope weighs 2.5 kg. Especially in combination with our popular rope extensions, the handling is much easier and more comfortable for the user.
There is only one thing to consider with our synthetic winch ropes: Due to the material, the ropes are sensitive to mechanical injuries, such as sharp edges or rough surfaces. Therefore, when using them, simply make sure to check the guides beforehand - everything must be smooth and free of notches. That will guarantee a long service life oft the synthetic winch cable!

Synthetic winch ropes
(61)Synthetic winch ropes for winches from ProLux can almost always replace winch ropes made of steel wire. The synthetic winch ropes are made of extremely high-strength synthetic fibres with high UV stability. The breaking strength of the synthetic winch rope is comparable to that of appropriately dimensioned steel wire ropes. However, the synthetic winch line is much lighter and more flexible and winds optimally on the rope drum.
